A single vineyard wine: the expression of Cabernets at Mas Vernet

The wine

Vintage 2018
Varieties Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon
Harvest Picked by hand in boxes in early October
Winemaking In stainless steel, with long macerations and frequent pumping-over.
Ageing 24 months in 3000 litre French oak "Botti"
Notes Concentrated garnet red; intense nose of spicy black fruit; in the mouth it is full bodied with a silky sweet tannin, well balanced with a long finish.
Alcohol 14% vol.

Soils Panal: quaternary fossil dunes with a silty texture, calcareous
Altitude 350m
Density Trained vines with a density of 4200 plants/ha
Management Cover crops planted in alternate rows, vines ploughed mechanically, green pruning and crop thinning for qualitative and quantitative reasons.
Yield 5000 kg/ha
